" AUTUMN VIBES "


Cafe Sitting Area (1st Floor)
CONCEPT STATEMENT
My client, Taikoukyo is a Japanese Style co-living with its gorgeous flowers in spring, vivid green foliage in the summer, and the most important maple tree in autumn. Taikoukyo is one of the best co-living space to enjoy the four seasons in Kyoto. During the four seasons, the situation of maple leaves will be affected. Therefore, I found that the metamorphosis of maple leaves is the symbol of this co-living. First keyword “metamorphosis” comes from the transformation of maple leaves during the four seasons. Next, “shrivel” is mainly inspired from the life of a maple tree. During winter, all the leaves started getting wither and started falling to the ground. Lastly, the keyword “proliferation” comes from the culture. The meaning of maple leaf in Japan is to come back home. Many countries have their own cultures, people keep sharing to one another, and a chain of relationship will form one day.

Mezzanine
CONCEPT STATEMENT
The main inspiration for this concept comes from a Scallop. After doing some research on Gordon Ramsay, he is known as a rude and overbearing person, who looked like the shell of a scallop, ugly and rough. But the meat inside the shell is angelic, and pearl can also be found in it, presenting the extraordinary cooking and fighting spirit.
The first keyword is “centrality”. The lines on the shell erupted from one point and extended to the entire shell.
Next, the keyword is “erratic”, which is inspired from the movement of scallop in the water. When they sense the presence of a predator, they attempt to escape by swimming swiftly but erratically in the water using their jet propulsion created by repeatedly clapping of their shell together.
Lastly, is “indomitable”. Since Gordon broke his leg during soccer when he is small, he started his chef life. Now he owns a total of 16 Michelin Stars of his restaurant. Through his continuous efforts, as he has reached the peak of his life.
