This project is to propose an oriental restaurant interior design scheme for Tattu Restaurant and Bar. The inspiration for this concept mainly comes from the characteristic of ‘Plum Blossom’ with the combination of ‘Tattoo’ and ‘Tatau’. The design concept of the Tattu is to take guests on a sensory journey from the traditional East to the modern West while stimulating all senses. Therefore, having two different design elements which are traditional East and modern West. With the contrast of two different design elements, this has inspired the keyword ”juxtaposition”. With the inspiration of the spirit of Polynesian geometrical ‘Tatau’ design, this has inspired the second keyword “polygonization”. With the characteristic of the plum trees that still manage to bloom throughout the harsh conditions of cold winter months, this has inspired the second keyword which is “blooming”. In conclusion, the form of conceptual model was inspired from the physical shape of plum blossom, but it had been simplified into squarish symmetrical shape to represent the sense of harmony.
